WORLD LATIN DANCE CUP 2011, THURSDAY — The second day of the 2011 World Latin Dance Cup was well underway yesterday with more competitors going against each other with their talent and skills.
The day was a bit busier than Wednesday night, the nightly salsa social had plenty more attendees and it went until 3 am in the morning! Surely, a salsa dancer's dream come true! The music being played by the DJs is also splendid!
The range of Latin Dance competitions that were held on Thursday at the 2011 World Latin Dance Cup, goes as follows:
- Cha Cha Cha Division
- Bachata Division
- The Amateur/Professional Division
- Over 65 Division
- Junior Division Division
- Team Amateur Division
- Professional On1 Division
- Professional On2 Division
Surely, there is a place for everyone who wishes to make an impact with their dancing and skills in the salsa world, to showcase what they got.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- The beautiful Serena Cuevas from San Diego and her partner competed within the Cha Cha Cha division.
- Juan and Lina from Cali, Colombia arrived at the competition and competed in the Junior division. They wowed the crowd with the amazing dancing.
- The San Diego division of Alma Latina Dance Team competed in the Team Amateur Division.
- Cristian Oviedo, the On1 Salsa Champion from Los Angeles, CA, is defending his 2010 On1 Title with a new partner against some very tough and talented opponents from Mexico. We will keep you informed about what happens with this, and we wish him the best!
- Liz Lira, who won the On1 Salsa Title with Cristian last year, is also at the competition, but in the On2 Division, and is competing with John Navarez from Salsamania.
- The judge panel saw the arrival of Tito Ortos from Puerto Rico, yesterday.

On to Friday night, the third day of the 2011 WLDC, with the second round of the semi-finals, and when they will annoucne who will qualify for the finals, which will be held at midnight.
