Albert Torres Productions (ATP) joins Dancers for Humanity to aid at-risk teens and homeless

World's biggest salsa promoter shows "Unity Through Salsa" by helping local charity raise funds for San Diego youth in need

SAN DIEGO | In a recent surge of support, Dancers for Humanity has gained a key sponsor in Albert Torres Productions (ATP).  In addition to integrating the Dancers for Humanity fundraising efforts with the San Diego Salsa and Bachata Festival, an ATP event, ATP has donated full-passes to the 2012 Los Angeles and The Las Vegas Salsa Congresses as prizes which will be featured and given away during the festival.  This contribution brings the total of goods and services raised for prizes at this event to over $5,700.

Mr. Torres himself orchestrated this gift while travelling between New York, Los Angeles and  Argentina.  “Its great what ATP is

doing for Dancers for Humanity in helping us raise funds for San Diego Youth Services StoreFront Shelter,” shared Dennis Bermeo, Managing Director of Dancers for Humanity.  “We always talk about ‘Unity through Salsa’, well Mr. Torres is delivering exactly that to San Diego.”

Many hours of preparation and planning have gone into the integration of the Dancers for Humanity messaging and fundraising.  Much of this is thanks to Angel and Tulane Rivera of Rivera Entertaiment, whose idea it was to showcase Dancers for Humanity at their 5th Annual Festival. “We are happy and excited to be a part of this wonderful cause.” shared Angel “It has given our event a greater purpose and hope everyone attending does their part to support our collective effort in reaching our surrounding community. We look forward to a successful event and cant wait to get the festivities started.”

At the festival, there will be a multi-tiered fundraising campaign by Dancers for Humanity which will include:

Silent Auction.  Various themed baskets with values from $100 to $150 will be on display for bidding in the lobby.  The baskets will be featured on Facebook in advance of the Festival.  Special “Buy Now” prices will be provided if you can’t wait.

Show Attendee Raffles. (Saturday and Sunday Afternoon and Evening Shows only).  These will feature the biggest prizes, valued between $200 and $600.  The catch is you have to be at the show to win, and you have to have the winning raffle ticket.

Raffle for Donated Items.  One basket will be raffled for those people who bring essential items for donation.  Every four (4) essential items donated will earn a ticket for this raffle.

To facilitate participation, Dancers for Humanity have established a PayPal account so people can participate without cash (e.g. credit/debit/e-check).  All funds raised will go to San Diego Youth Services StoreFront Shelter.

As an added bonus, Dancers for Humanity will host a Saturday Late Night VIP Party for those who both attended the festival and participated in the fundraising.  However, “No Alligator Arms” will be allowed in the suite as the party is “A Celebration of Giving.”
