Alex Da Silva Trial: an event that seems to have captivated Salsa

Alex Da Silva's trial commenced on August 24th, 2011, and it is believed that it will go on for a few weeks before a verdict is reached.

ALEX DA SILVA TRIAL 2011 — If anything has been proven by the level of attention that so many people are giving the event of Alex Da Silva's trial and how websites and search engines are flooded with queries regarding the event, is how relevant of an individual Alex was, whether in positive or negative perspectives, to so many people inside and outside the salsa scene.

In an era when celebrity gossip seems to rule media airways everywhere and when people are fascinated by dull and empty reality TV stars who are famous for simply being famous, it seems only appropriate that people are behaving this way.

Some being anxious and hungry to see the latest on Alex Da Silva, savoring the moment when the trial would commence (which started Aug. 24th), and in a frenzy to hear what the verdict will be at the end of it all. Relatives and friends wishing for the best and Alex's freedom, and bitter enemies from Alex's past wishing he is found guilty and has to suffer further.

Meanwhile, only those in the jury are in control of Alex's future and justice shall be done. Something did or did not happen regarding the allegations involved, and it is the members of the jury who will be presented with evidence, statements, and accounts to be able to make a viable decision in the matter.

For this reason, it should be worth stating that this follow-up article is being written with the blessing of Alex's sister, Stacy Da Silva. We, at SalsaHook.com, do not wish to be seen as a predatory media outlet that feasts on the misfortunes of a celebrity to achieve any type of gain. While we are not taking any sides in the matter, it is worth realizing that all the attention is being put on one man, and that's why we sought his sister's approval.

Stacy has been very animate throughout the process that has now taken over 2 years, dating from Alex's second arrest up to the first day in court this past August 24th. She has even gone to the extent of writing an article about Alex's situation behind bars on our website. We believe Alex must feel lucky to have such support from his loved ones.

In the same fashion, nobody feels that the situations to which the accussers, allegedly, were put through are desireable in any way. We feel very sorry for them and their alleged experiences. And it is for this reason that we have tried our best to NOT seem on any side when writing about Alex and this trial.

Furthermore, we only wrote about Alex Da Silva in the first place, because our website is about Salsa dancing and Alex was a major star in the Salsa world, and when his arrest took place, the news took our global scene by storm. Such prompted an interest and enquiries from individuals, which led to our first article on the matter.

It is our understanding that the trial will take about 1 month to be culminated and a verdict be reached. Whatever the outcome, we wish the best to all involved. May justice be served.

We who have watched the trial each day are outraged at how immature, imbalances women have been allowed to manipulate the court system in a perverted attempt to settle old scores with Alex. A jury of sensible, fair-minded jurors will soon deliver Alex from this injustice at which point I hope he elects to seek redress for the harm inflicted upon him by these sinister liars.
