Change Your LocationLos Angeles Friday Salsa Dancing: More options in one night than some cities have in a week
Written by Milton Rodas
LOS ANGELES FRIDAY SALSA — How many cities can say that they have more than five options in Salsa venues to go to on a Friday night? Can San Diego or San Francisco say that? How about New York? I am sure they can, and maybe they even have more.
Well, what if we spoke about fourteen Salsa nightclubs happening every Friday night in the city of Los Angeles? (and that excludes The Mayan and other venues that we don't really consider "Salsa clubs") Yes, that's how many venues we have every Friday night in Los Angeles!
A lot of people living in Los Angeles don't give any importance to this, as they are simply used to having the options and that's that. But when you love salsa dancing and you are stuck in a city that only has one, or two, or three venues on any given night to go dancing to, then this comes to matter - A LOT!
I've met people who have actually moved to Los Angeles from other states in the U.S. just to have access to the variety of clubs and the high level of dancing that we enjoy in this city. This is true. It's amazing to imagine someone actually picking up their lives and moving all the way to LA just for Salsa, but it happens and it happens very often.
Here is a list of the venues that are happening every Friday in Los Angeles. Visit their SalsaHook.com event listing for more information, driving directions, etc.:
- La Pollera Colorada @ La Fonda (Colombian Salsa) -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- The Warehouse in Marina Del Rey -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Mama Juanas Latin Lounge Salsa Fridays -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Stevens Steak House Fridays -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Whittier Radission Hotel "Salsa at the Pool" -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Ureni Restaurant -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- CocoPalm Restaurant Friday Nights -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- El Floridita Cuban Restaurant Friday Nights -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Hacienda Hotel at El Segundo -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Tapas Restaurant in Newport Beach Salsa -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- The Granada Friday Salsa Nights -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- El Pollo Inka Peruvian Restaurant Salsa -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- RMG Fine Arts Viernes de Rumba -- SalsaHook.com Listing
- Argentine Association Mixed Milonga Every Friday -- SalsaHook.com Listing
Now you know it, maybe over-saturation of Salsa in the city is a problem for promoters, but for those of us who love dancing, we have a lot of options! It's just a matter of knowing where to go to find a dance floor filled with people to dance with! Happy dancing!
