Ralph Macchio defends Karina Smirnoff over comments by DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli

DANCING WITH THE STARS (DWTS) — After a Salsa number that looked more like Merengue by dance professional Karina Smirnoff and actor Ralph Macchio, Judge Bruno Tonioli went overboard by using the word "p***y" when referring to them and Karina in specific (who was dressed in a leopard print outfit of some sort).

We, at SalsaHook.com, have maintained that the mere fact that Karina is even remotely offended by the comment is a complete irony given the fact that she posed for Playboy as a publicity stunt during the airing of the 12th season of "Dancing With The Stars." We believe that a show that is watched by millions of U.S. children, as well as adults, should cast people with higher moral character and integrity...but we continue watching because of one thing, and one thing only: the dancing.

Recently and only after being axed from the show, Karina's partner Ralph Macchio has come out kicking and fighting 'Karate Kid'-style in defense of his partner and criticizing not only Bruno Tonioli, but all the judges at DWTS. While that's somewhat pleasant in itself, since the judges truly seem like individuals who could not hold their own on any type of dance (especially Salsa, which we care about the most and they seem to judge so harshly, as if they were eminences on the subject), often come out with criticisms that seem so out-of-touch with what was actually presented on the floor.

Granted that I, as a former judge in dance competitions, can waiver a little of my criticism and dislike toward the judges as I know that often times what a judge sees from a single perspective on the dance floor (wherever they are seated) may look absolutely different to what a television audience is able to appreciate given the many angles that are sent right into their living rooms.

But still, so many times I've been watching and I just know that if that asian lady, what's her name?, was on the dance floor and I had the chance to show her some moves...she would simply NOT be able to keep up with me and would remove all doubt that they are simply not adequate level dancers to be judging a dance competition in the first place.

Anyway, back to Ralph Macchio. Ralph has recently been making comments that seem to defend, to great extents, the integrity and dignity of his former dance partner Karina Smirnoff.

Now, we, who have had partners, KNOW that a certain level of love and care always grows as the partnership grows. So much touching, holding, trusting and fighting with each other, just gets all mushy and lovey-dovey at times that it is easy to get carried away with a dance partner...but careful, if you are married and have children, a fine line should be drawn!

Now, we know Karina is a very attractive woman, and unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger who nailed an ugly specimen of the female kind, Ralph is actually in a riskier position and does have more leverage in actually having and showing feelings of 'care' for her. But the question is, DID anyone notice Ralph's wife's reactions in the first few shows to the sexy dancing that Karina tried to impose on her husband?

Come on, we who dance, KNOW she was jealous and perhaps only supportive because it is her husband's 'professional field' and could help him be launched to a new and revived career, but still, she did not seem happy and Ralph also showed his concern with his wife watching over them from the first row as he kept his distance from his sexy partner.

So, the whole point of this ranting (which was quite fun, I must admit) is that Ralph should really just stay quiet and go back to his wife and family! I mean, what does he want his wife to think now? That the 'show' must go on? ... No Ralph, take it from someone who's made all those 'dance' mistakes, the show must NOT go on if you are committed somewhere else! If you are to be a part of the daily ranting in Hollywood, like Charlie Sheen has successfully done recently, you need to find another way and not defend a woman that posed in Playboy and is so hot as Karina Smirnoff is!

Ralph Macchio, remember: "no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher...teacher say, student do."
